Large populations of such species of conservation concern as Great snipe Gallinago media, Black-tailed godwit Limosa limosa inhabit the Turau meadows in Gomel Oblast. The floodplain meadows of Prypiac river here is relatively low and waterlogged. This creates highly favorable conditions for breeding of these species. The area is a great place to watch Great snipe and Black-tailed godwit in March and April.
